Albert Gray A.G. Webster Obituary (1934 - 2018)

STOKESDALE - A.G. Webster, 83, passed away on August 21, 2018. His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 28, at 2:00 pm at Stokesdale Christian Church. Visitation will be at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison, Monday, August 27, 6-8 pm. A.G. was a native of Rockingham County, born November 25, 1934, the youngest of 6 children of the late James Frank and Mattie Neal Webster. He was a 1952 graduate of Madison High School; after graduation, he immediately went to work at Sears Roebuck & Co., where he spent the next 40 years before retiring. He then went to work for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. for a number of years. A.G. was a member of the Stokesdale Civitan Club, he coached Little League Baseball, and was a member of Masonic Lodge 428 in Stokesdale. He was a member of Stokesdale Christian Church. He always loved hunting, beach trips, sports and animals. He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Marian Richardson Webster; his daughter, Amy Webster Redding; son-in-law, Jamie L. Redding; sister-in-law, Doris Powell Webster; many nieces, nephews & cousins. He is preceded in death by his son, Britt Webster; brothers Franklin, Paul & Philip Webster; sisters Mildred Purgason & Hilda Hall. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Mark Perini, who always made A.G. feel better, and the nurses and Palliative Team at Moses Cone Hospital.
