Bobby Leroy Manuel Obituary (1937 - 2017)

MADISON Bobby Leroy Manuel, 80, died Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Morehead Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military honors by the North Carolina National Guard. Mr. Manuel was born June 6, 1937, in Rockingham County, to the late Jess Manuel and Lucy Holt Manuel. He was US Army veteran, a retired supervisor of Parkdale Mills, and a past employee of Fieldcrest Mills and Miller Brewing Company. Bobby loved his family and was an avid fisherman, NASCAR fan, baseball fan and gardener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley White Manuel and brothers, Harold and Jackie Manuel. Survivors include daughters, Lisa M. Pruitt (Neil) and Vickie Manuel; brother, Ronnie Manuel (Robin); sisters, Louise Soloman (Thomas) and Lucille Davis (David); grandchildren, Michael and Justin Dunlap; great-grandchild, Alicia Dunlap; and step-grandchildren, Kristina Langley and Katherine Matthews and sisters-in-law, Mildred Manuel and Josephine Doss. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm, Friday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the home of Neil and Lisa Pruitt, 900 Sardis Church Road, Madison.
