Carl Allen Carroll Obituary (1948 - 2019)

MADISON Carl Allen Carroll, 71, died on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the church and all other times at the home of Sherry Felts, 101 Mountain Street, Mayodan, beginning Wednesday, November 27, 2019. Mr. Carroll was born on August 25, 1948 in Montgomery County, Indiana to the late James Robert Carroll and Kathryn Walden Carroll. Carl worked for many years as a telecommunications engineer. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping and enjoyed watching sports, especially football. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and collecting coins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Robert Carroll; brother-in-law, Tommy Joyce, sister-in-law, Tonia Joyce and nephew, James Leland Carroll. Survivors include his wife, Tamara Joyce Carroll; children, Theodore Carroll (Susan), Sally Brogan (Brian), Jason Joyce (Meredith), Matthew Joyce (Stasha), Katie Grogan (Joseph) and Joey Carroll; grandchildren, Grace and Benjamin Carroll, Kylie Gordon, Will and Daytona Brogan, Madelyn Bennett, Nora, Reid and Channing Joyce and J.J., Kalina and Liam Grogan; brothers, Richard Carroll (Sue) and Jim Carroll (Kima); brother-in-law, Tim Joyce; sisters-in-law, Susie Carroll, Mandy Talley (Boyd) and Sherry Felts (Keith) and special friend, Mike Bullins. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
