Court George Ehrhardt Obituary (1942 - 2017)

MADISON - Msgt. Court G. Ehrhardt, 75 passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017. He was born in Buffalo, NY and was a graduate of Burgard Vocational High School. He joined the Air Force at 17 and served during the Vietnam War at Pleiku, including stations at Korea, Thailand, Phillippines and Germany. Court received the Air Force's rare Citation of Honor for his outstanding contributions in the field of aerospace technical training. The award was presented by the famed General Jimmy Doolittle in Washington DC. He also received the Order of The Sword for Noncommissioned Officers which is an honor to pay tribute to military or civilians who are held in highest esteem. After he retired from the Air Force, Court continued his career with Beech Aircraft as a Producibility Engineer for the Starship program, Rockwell International on the B1 Bomber and Stealth aircrafts, Eastern Airlines and Timco (now Haeco), where he built the Composite Center and was honored by having the building named after him. Court was passionate about fishing and watched the sunrise throughout his life. Court will be remembered as a mentor and a teacher to mechanics with no experience, who are now professional, accomplished composite mechanics who can hold their own anywhere. Court is survived by his wife, Cherie Ehrhardt of 33 years, sons, Michael Ehrhardt, Steven Ehrhardt (Beth), Andy Anderson (Jessica), and Neil Anderson (fiancee Jessica), his grandchildren Elizabeth and Rebekah Ehrhardt (Michael), Seth Penn, Aidan and Emma Ehrhardt (Steven), Evelyn and Elena Anderson (Andy), Savannah and Audrey Anderson (Neil), and his brother Lance Ehrhardt (Joann) of NY. Visitation will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 from 3:00 - 4:30 pm at Colonial Funeral Home and Chapel at 127 Ellisboro Road, Madison, NC 27025 with a Celebration of Life immediately following. Burial will be held August 1st at the Salisbury National Cemetery at 11:00 am with military honors.
