Donnie Harold Clark Obituary (1944 - 2020)

MADISON - Donnie Harold Clark, 75, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Wesley Long Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Comer's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. Recommended social distancing guidelines will apply. Mr. Clark was born on August 19, 1944 in Rockingham County to the late Lonzy Everette Clark and Melva Sharp Clark. Donnie, also known as "Red", served his country honorably in the Army National Guard. He retired from Citi Financial as a branch manager and was a member of Comer's Chapel Baptist Church. Donnie enjoyed lifting weights, walking, watching Carolina and Duke Basketball and most importantly, reading his bible daily. Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda Mabe Clark; brother, Larry Clark (Gail); sister-in-law, Shirley Gourley; brother-in-law, Billy Ray Mabe, Sr; nephews, Brandon Clark (Brandi), Jeffery Tilley (Marie), Greg Flynt, Bradley Flynt and Billy Ray Mabe, Jr.; nieces, Lori Holland (Bart), Sheila Cechini (Tony), Theresa Smith (Ronnie) and Rhonda Smith; great-niece, Ashley Martin (Josh); great-great-nephew, Carter Martin and special canine, Fabio. Mr. Clark will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m., Monday at the funeral home for those wishing pay their respects and sign a register. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Comer's Chapel Baptist Church, 1990 Bald Hill Loop, Madison, NC 27025. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
