Dorothy Butcher Lewellyn Obituary (1942 - 2020)

REIDSVILLE Dorothy Butcher Lewellyn, 77, died on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Hospice of Rockingham County. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Stokesdale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m., Sunday at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the residence. Mrs. Lewellyn was born on February 4, 1942 in Surry County to the late Connard Butcher and Flora Hazelwood Butcher. Some of her favorite things were cooking, singing and looking forward to Christmas each year. She had a love for flowers and beautiful heart. Dorothy will be missed by many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Lewellyn; son, Jesse Irvin Tilley and several siblings. She is survived by her children, Wendy Thomas (Johnny); Robert Tilley (Jaylene), Billy Tilley (Josephine Ore) and Jimmy Tilley (Jennifer); twenty-eight grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; brother, Connard Butcher, Jr. and sisters, Billie Grose and Eunice Gilley (J.C.) Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
