Gloria Poole Garver Obituary (1928 - 2021)

Gloria (Poole) Garver, 93, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at her home in Stokesdale. Her faith in God was strong as she looked forward to the soon return of Jesus Christ. A private burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler, NC where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Gilbert Garver. A memorial service will be held in the Greensboro Seventh-day Adventist Church on Saturday, September 25, at 4:30 pm. Mrs. Garver was born July 6, 1928, in Marsland, Nebraska, to the late Arthur Dee Poole and Margaret (Mullinnex) Poole. She lived in many places across the United States as her husband followed his job, all while raising their four children. They eventually settled in Candler, NC where they remained for many years until moving in with their son Glen. Mrs. Garver was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Greensboro, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Eugene Garver; a brother, Arthur Leroy Poole; and three sisters, Pansy Aultman, Geraldine Border, and Laura Angel. Mrs. Garver is survived by her three sons, Richard Garver and wife, Kareis, of Creston, NC, Phil Garver and wife, Betty, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, and Glen Garver and wife, Beth, of Stokesdale, NC; as well as a daughter, Gerita Liebelt and husband, Lonny, of Libby, Montana; she also leaves 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
