Johnnie Beth Black Robertson Stacy Obituary (1933 - 2021)

STOKESDALE - Johnnie B. Stacy, 87, of Stokesdale, NC, completed her journey to her heavenly home on Monday, April 26, 2021, after battling colon/liver/lung cancer. She was born to the late Nathan Luther Black and Bertha Ella Wright Black, of Cherryville, NC, where she was the youngest of nine children. Johnnie was a dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother, and most beloved aunt and friend. She will lie in state at Colonial Funeral Home from 2 pm to 6 pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 for those wishing to pay their respects. The family will receive friends at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel from 9:30 am to 10:30 am Thursday, April 29, 2021, followed by funeral services at 10:30 am. Following the service, Johnnie will be transported to the Gaston Memorial Park Cemetery in Gastonia, NC for a short graveside service and interment at 2 p.m.. ( COVID-19 guidelines will be observed.) In addition to her parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Robert G. Stacy, five sisters, three brothers, and grandson Adam W. Sharpe. She is survived by her daughters Carla Robertson Sharpe (Wesley), Rita Robertson Smith (Mitch), six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family wishes to say "Thank you" to all the wonderful nurses, their aides, and Doctor K (Katragadda) at Annie Penn Hospital Cancer Center in Reidsville, NC, for the love and care given to her these last two years, and to Hospice of Rockingham County for their care and support these last few weeks.
