Joseph W. Shropshire Obituary (1938 - 2020)

STONEVILLE - Joseph Whitfield Shropshire, age 81 of Stoneville, NC passed Saturday January 25, 2020 at his home. A Memorial Service will be held 2 pm, Thursday January 30, 2020 at the Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Joseph was born June 10, 1938 to the late Bland Shropshire and Ethel Murphy Shropshire in Rockingham County, NC. He worked for Sears in the mail order department for 27 years and afterwards he worked for QRT delivering School Buses all over the United States. He loved fishing, and served his country in the US Navy. Surviving him are his former wife and friend, Linda Carter Shropshire of Greensboro, NC, special nieces, Sophia and Maggie Gordy, along with many other nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death along with his parents are 3 brothers and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
