Laura Hancock Brown Obituary (1958 - 2021)

STONEVILLE - Laura Sue Hancock Brown, 63, left this earthly life on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at UNC Rockingham Health Care. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Hancock Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Laura was born on April 8, 1958 in Rockingham County to the late Frank Edward Hancock and Virginia Lee Whitten Hancock. She loved to shop and decorate, as well as spending time with her family and friends when her health allowed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ricky Hancock and Steve Hancock. Survivors include her sister, Wanda Hancock; nieces and nephews, Allison Hancock Lemons (Kevin), Susan Hancock Clark (Keith), Joshua P. Hancock (Sherry), John R. Hancock, Brandon W. Stahly (Angela) and Ashley G. Whitten (Jamie); uncle, Powell Whitten (wife, Ray); special neighbors, Phyllis and Ricky Fagge and several special great nieces, great nephews and extended family members.
