Lucy Jane Mitchell Mabe Obituary (1942 - 2017)

Danbury - Lucy Jane Mitchell Mabe, 75,passed away, Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at her home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Interment will follow in Wilson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Mabe was born October 13, 1942, in Stokes County, to the late Woodrow Wilson Mitchell and the late Ethel Mae Collins. She was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church and was a CNA. She loved gardening and loved her dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Frank Mabe; brothers, Robert and Did Mitchell; and a grandson, Matthew Sexton. Survivors include her husband, Frank Mabe; sons, Michael Mabe (Carol) and Tim Mabe; daughters, Joy Sexton (Sammy) and Karen Neal (Lewis); a brother, Pinky Mitchell (Paula); sisters, Vera Priddy (Ralph), Kathy Dillion (Bruh), Willie Thomas (Ken), and Elaine Holland (Jim); grandchildren, Brandon, Cameron, and Austin Mabe, Brook Neal, Jennifer Thornton, Angie Whitener, Stevie Sizemore, Samuel Sexton, Jr., Nick Mabe, and Kendal Alvarada; and eighteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and all other times at the home.
