Michael Anthony Martin Obituary (1966 - 2021)

STONEVILLE - Michael Anthony Martin, 54, died on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m., Friday at the funeral home and all other times at the home of his mother, Faye Martin. Mr. Martin was born on April 24, 1966 in Rockingham County. Mike retired from Pine Hall Brick and was an avid UNC Tar Heel, Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR fan. In his younger years, Mike enjoyed golfing and coaching little league sports. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Martin; paternal grandparents, Oscar and Evelyn Martin; maternal grandparents, Esbert and Etta Collins and father-in-law, Willie Shelton. Survivors include his mother, Faye Collins Martin, of Stoneville; father and step-mother, Robert Taylor Martin and Linda Martin, of Stoneville; wife, Lorrie Shelton Martin, of the home; sons, Justin Chase Martin (Timberlyn) and Michael Hunter Martin (Alexus), all of Stoneville; soon to arrive granddaughter, Soren Martin; siblings, Ricky Martin (Paula) of Ridgeway, VA, Stevie Martin (Tammy) and Julie White (Roger), all of Stoneville; special canine friend, Chloe; special cousin, more like a sister, Emily Richardson (Chuck) and numerous other special nieces, nephews and extended family members.
