Buddy Carlton Booth Obituary (1938 - 2020)

STONEVILLE Buddy Carlton Booth, "Papa Bud" to the family, 81, left his earthly home Monday, March 30, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. A private graveside service will be held Thursday, April 2, 2020, at the Stoneville Municipal Cemetery. Buddy, a life-long resident of Rockingham County, was born August 17, 1938, to the late Jessie Booth and Wetta Via Booth Brim. He was a retired plumber. He enjoyed various activities, especially fishing at Emerald Isle, trips to the coast, and hanging out at different local restaurants. Buddy could be called a perfectionist and a "fixer" or a handyman. He loved to fix things. His most favorite joy in life was spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Zach Martin; brother, Jimmie Booth and a sister, Evelene Booth Fain. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Karen Nance Booth; two daughters, Ginger Booth Martin (Sammy) and Penny Booth Horn; grandson, Sam Martin; brother, William Houston Booth (Dolores); two sisters, Judy Booth Shelton (Allen) and Shirley Brim Jones (David); special friends, Keith and Cindy Hill and many others. Mr. Booth will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
