Cecil Ray Atkins Obituary (1958 - 2019)

Walnut Cove Cecil Ray Atkins, 61, passed away, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston Salem. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service, and other times at the home of his sister, Linda Stanley, Walnut Hill Farm Rd, Rural Hall, NC. Mr. Atkins was born June 1, 1958, in Stokes County, to Frances Cromer Atkins and the late Edgar Atkins. He was a former employee of Wieland Copper, Inc. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda McBride Atkins on June 4, 2019 and a brother, Harvey Atkins. Survivors include his mother, Frances Cromer McHone; two sons, Christopher and Edward Atkins; a daughter, Jessica Lynne Atkins; brothers, Rev. Roger Atkins (Darlene) and E.C. Atkins (Peggy); sisters, Linda Stanley (Joel), Wanda Warden (Daniel), Gertis Martin (Jimmy); and a granddaughter, Reva Chyianne Atkins.
