Curtis O'Brien Middleton Obituary (1930 - 2018)

STOKESDALE - Curtis O'Brien Middleton of Stokesdale, NC passed away on April 20, 2018. He lived his life with a strong abiding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Curt was born on June 18, 1930 to Arthur and Naomi Webb Middleton, and was one of eleven children raised on the family farm in Rockingham County. He had deep roots in the soil of that land and farmed it his entire life. He was a graduate of Bethany High School where he formed lifelong relationships with many of his classmates. He served in the North Carolina National Guard and retired from BellSouth after a career of more than thirty years. On November 24, 1956, Curt married the love of his life, Dorothy Grogan Middleton. He cherished Dot with all his heart, and they were blessed with two children, Jeff Middleton (wife Beth) of Birmingham, AL and Connie (husband Stephen) of Stokesdale. He was a loving father and a precious grandfather to Jordan (Kennedy), Elizabeth (Taylor) and Gaelan Middleton. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until time of the service at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sardis Primitive Baptist Church, c/o of Todd Vaughn, 4837 NC Hwy 704, Madison, NC 27025. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
