Easley Gray "E.G." Spencer Obituary (1933 - 2021)

DANBURY - Easley Gray " E.G." Spencer, 87, passed away, Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at LifeBrite Community Hospital of Stokes. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2021, at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and face coverings are required. E.G. was born October 12, 1933, in Stokes County, to the late Jim Matthew and Geneva Lackey Spencer. He was a US Army veteran and a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church. He retired as a security guard from Stokes Reynolds Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John "Babe" Spencer, Garland Spencer, and Billy Joe Spencer. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ruth Clark Spencer, daughters, Rebecca Spencer Hickman (Doug), Vickie Lynn Spencer, Shannon Leigh Garner (Brad); son, Michael Gray Spencer (Janice); grandchildren, Tracy Douglas Hickman (Susan), Thadrick Michael Spencer (Carrie), Kristie Weaver, Ashley Renee Hall (Andy), and Stacey Cardwell (Billy); twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ben Spencer (Faye), Joe Spencer (Brenda), and Don Spencer; and a sister, Priscilla Spencer.. Mr. Spencer may be viewed from 12 to 6 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
