Edna Earl Stokes Hiatt Obituary (1941 - 2017)

REIDSVILLE Edna Earl Stokes Hiatt, 75, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Hospice of Rockingham County. The funeral service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Ms. Hiatt was born September 14, 1941, in Rockingham County, to the late John Wesley Stokes and Ollie Stokes. Edna was known for her strong work ethic. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Human Hiatt and brothers, Wayne Stokes and Ray Stokes. Survivors include her son, Bobby Wesley Hiatt; daughter, Georgia Watkins; sisters, Edith Stokes, Dorothy Scoggins and Pauline Scoggins (Robert); grandchildren, Amber Watkins, Jonathan Watkins, Christopher Hiatt and Shane Hiatt; seven great-grandchildren; nephew, James Scoggins and niece, Betty Scoggins. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel, Inc. 127 Ellisboro Road Madison, NC 27025, to assist the family with expenses.
