Elzie Gene Puckett Obituary (1937 - 2023)

MADISON -Elzie Gene Puckett, 86, died on Monday, June 5, 2023 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donnie Chandler officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Mr. Puckett was born on April 30, 1937 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late John Robert Puckett, Sr. and Bertie Alice Cox Puckett. Elzie, also known by many as "Puckett" was a past employee of Burlington Industries and was the owner and operator of M-M Cycle Shop. He loved being a part of the Gold Wing Road Rider family and playing his guitar with the Huntsville seniors. Elzie will be remembered for his vibrant personality and genuine love for his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Georgia Mae Dalton, Annie Bonton, Nova Atkins, Martha Boyd and Elsie Naseef and brother, John Robert Puckett, Jr. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Betty Dodson Puckett; twin sister, Elvie "Tootsie" P. Craig (Ralph); adopted brother, Gurney Myers (Joanne) and many special nieces and nephews on the Puckett, Dodson and Cox sides of the family.
