Era Helen Greenwood Whitt Obituary (1934 - 2017)

DANBURY Era Helen Greenwood Whitt, of Danbury, NC, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017, at Wake Forest Baptist Health. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 4632 NC 66, King, NC 27021. Interment will follow in Hard Bank Cemetery, Danbury, NC. Mrs. Era Whitt was born in Stokes County, to the late Walter Sidney and Hessie Caudle Greenwood. She was a pioneer in her field of expertise Owner, President, and CEO of Whitt Furniture Gallery and entrepreneur of several other business ventures. Mrs. Whitt was blessed with a photographic memory and always wanting others to succeed in their chosen fields. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gray Whitt; brothers, Coy, Roy, and Gurney Ray Greenwood; and sisters, Sally Lillian Hole , Mae Greenwood Mabe, and Theresa Alice Lawson. Survivors include daughters, Sherry Mae Whitt (Raymond C. Brown III) and Janet Sue Whitt; sister-in-law, Mrs. Shirley Greenwood; special sister-in-law, Ardina Whitt Fulp and husband, Jabo; a great-niece, Harper Elizabeth Fulp; numerous nieces and nephews and many special sisters and friends, Linda Flores, Meta Zarate, Linda Mendoza, and Shelby Millsaps and their respective husbands and children. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, September 11, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and all other times at the residence of Sherry and Raymond Brown, 1464 High Valley Rd, King, NC 27021. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hard Bank Cemetery, C/o Pauline Flinchum, 1576 Piney Grove Church Rd, Danbury, NC 27016.
