Isabell Kallam Stephens Obituary (1927 - 2018)

MADISON - Isabell Kallam Stephens, 91, died on Friday, November 30, 2018. A celebration of Isabells life will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018, at the First Baptist Church, 110 Franklin Street, Madison, NC, at 6:30 pm. A reception will follow the service in the Brown Fellowship Hall. Isabell will be interred with her loving husband, Donald, in a private graveside service at Woodland Cemetery. Isabell, daughter of the late Harry C. Kallam and Nanny M. Kallam, called Madison, NC, her home for ninety-one years. Isabell, widow of Donald Stephens, maintained and operated Kallam Oil Company in the years following Donalds death in 1982. Isabell was proud of her three, strong sons; Mark K Stephens of Bristol, VA, and daughter-in-law, Pam Stephens of Wilmington, NC; Harry K. Stephens and wife, Kathy of Winston Salem, NC; and Chad K. Stephens and wife, Karen of Mableton, GA. Isabell enjoyed her two grandchildren while they grew up in Madison; Dr. Ashley Stephens Case and husband, Brandon who live in Asheville, NC, with Isabells great grandchildren, Peyton Case, Addison Case, and Grier Case; Brian Vincient Stephens and wife, Jenny who live in Chapel Hill, NC, with great grandchildren, Kallam Stephens and Rhett Stephens. Isabell was a loving, kind, and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She lived her life with purpose, conviction, and a positive spirit. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Madison, NC. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the NC Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 7101 Creedmoor Road, Suite 130, Raleigh, NC 27613. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
