Lucille Nelson Sheppard Obituary (1930 - 2017)

MADISON Lucille Nelson Sheppard, 86, died Monday, May 29, 2017, at Jacobs Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 1, 2017, from 11 am until 12 pm at Colonial Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm Thursday at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born in Stokes County on November 5, 1930, Lucille was retired from Washington Mills and a past employee of Britthaven Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Sheppard; parents, Moyer and Geneva Bullins Nelson and four brothers, Joseph, David, Monroe and Paul Nelson. Survivors include her sons, Ronald Sheppard, Roger (Loretta) Sheppard; grandchildren, Dusty (Jennifer) Sheppard, Corey Sheppard; great-grandchildren, Alec and Jacyanne Sheppard; brothers, Calvin, Leroy (Myrtle) Nelson, Junior (Dorothy) Nelson, and Jimmy Nelson, and a sister, Verdie Mae (Elmer) McBride. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, South Atlantic Division, Inc., Rockingham Unit, PO Box 41912, Raleigh, NC 27269-1912. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
