Mitchell Eugene Stout, Sr. Obituary (1938 - 2018)

WALNUT COVE Mitchell Eugene Stout, Sr., 80, died on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, August 10, 2018 at True Gospel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Stout was born on April 10, 1938 in Forsyth County to the late John Rufus Stout and Dolly Belle Butner Barney. He loved his church family at True Gospel Baptist Church and enjoyed being outdoors. Mr. Stout was an avid sportsman, who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was also a skilled woodworker, building a variety of beautiful things for his family and friends. His immeasurable love toward his family will always be remembered. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Floyd Frank Barney, Sr. and former son-in-law, Brian Walker. Survivors include his sons, Mitchell Stout, Jr. (Jennifer) and Todd Stout; daughters, Diane Snow and Crystal Fisher (Bobby); brothers, Jeffrey Stout (Elsie) and Floyd "Junior" Barney, Jr. (Melissa); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to True Gospel Baptist Church, 4720 NC Hwy 704, Madison, NC 27025. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
