Onda Collins Platt Obituary (1958 - 2021)

MADISON - Onda Collins Platt died peacefully at home after an extended illness. A visitation with family will be held outdoors from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Collins Farm, 1751 Sardis Church Road, Madison. A brief service to celebrate her life will follow at 2 p.m. with a tree planting, a song and a prayer. A memory box will be available for friends to write a prayer or share a memory of Onda as a way for her family to have a special keepsake. She was born January 28, 1958, in Rockingham County, was a graduate of Madison-Mayodan High School and UNC Greensboro. Onda was a past employee of American Express and Bank of America. She was a member of Ellisboro Baptist Church. She loved nature; taking care of birds and the farm animals. Onda also enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Alan Platt, Sr.; mother, Othelia Olene Hall Collins; brother, Edward Collins. Survivors include her father, Willard Collins; son, James Collin Wall; daughter, Calyn Elizabeth Collins Wall; and brother, Anthony "Tony" Collins. Special thanks is extended to Lorena Besch, Diane Smith, Frances Joyce and the Ellisboro Baptist Church family for their loving care and support.
