Rosemary June Harris Hundley Obituary (1939 - 2017)

STOKESDALE Rosemary June Harris Hundley 78, departed this earthly life Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Annie Penn Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, December 1, 2017, at Irisburg United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5170 Irisburg Rd. Axton, VA 24054, with Reverend Brian Scotton and Reverend Mike Manuel officiating. Mrs. Hundley was born May 3, 1939, in Henry County, Virginia to the late Jasper Amos Harris and Betty King Eggleston Harris. Rosemary had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and loved sharing her testimony with others. She loved making jewelry, arts and crafts and had a special love for birds. Mrs. Hundley always had a smile and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Harris and Reverend John Harris and her sisters, Dorothy Mangrum and Flora Law. Survivors include daughters, Becky Hundley Scotton and husband, Rev. Brian Scotton of Madison and Sue Farris of Eden; brothers, Jasper A. Harris and wife, Juanita of Danville, VA; sisters, Peggy Bouffard of Rhode Island, Annie McDaniel and Ellenor "Elle" McMillian and husband, Carl, all of Martinsville, VA; grandchildren, Kurt Scotton and wife, Katie, Lance Scotton and wife, Ashley, Amy Hobbs and husband, Robert, Brandon Farris and Austin Hale; great-grandchildren, Justin Scotton and Luke Hobbs. The family would like to thank the staff of Countryside Manor and Annie Penn Hospital for the wonderful care they provided. Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
