Teddy Dean Bennett Obituary (1956 - 2017)

Danbury Teddy Dean Bennett, 61, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Interment will follow in Snow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Teddy was born September 27, 1956, in Stokes County, to the late Henry Edsel and Brona Hall Bennett. He was retired from Stokes County EMS with 40 years of service as a paramedic. He was also a member of the Lawsonville Fire Department and Rescue Squad and was a part of Bennett and Sons Pig Farm. He enjoyed supporting the North Stokes Vikings football program and spending time with his grandchildren. Teddy loved hunting, fishing, playing golf, spending time with his family, beach music, and dancing. He was the life of every party. When you were around him, you couldnt help but have a good time. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family. He worked endlessly to make sure everyone had what they needed. Words cannot express how much he was loved and will be missed. He will be missed by many special relatives, friends, and co-workers. Survivors include his loving wife, Sherry McAlexander Bennett; sons, Matthew and Megan Bennett of Danbury, Andrew and Jessica Bennett also of Danbury ; brother, Eddie and Amy Bennett of Lawsonville; grandchildren, Ava, Aiden, Henry Axel, Aisley, Wyatt and Levi Bennett; stepsons, Bradley and Desiree Handy, Justin and Cassie Handy; step-grandchildren, Cora, Brayson and Briella Handy. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday January 1, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and all other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Stokes Vikings Football Team, 1350 N Stokes School Rd., Danbury NC 27016.
