WM. Lamar Shepherd Obituary (1946 - 2018)

MADISON Wm. "Lamar" Shepherd, 71, died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Colonial Funeral Home, and all other times at the residence. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Grace Baptist Church. Inurnment will follow in Grace Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Lamar was born in Stanly County, to the late Ray Shepherd and Faye Almond Shepherd. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Grace Baptist Church, and retired from Clariant Corporation. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and golfing. In addition to his parents, Lamar was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ashley Marie Shepherd. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carol White Shepherd; sons, Christopher Lamar Shepherd (Shannon), Jody Shepherd (Andrea); daughters, Wendy Shepherd Wray (Kevin), Shannon Shepherd; grandchildren, Jewell, Noah, Austin, Tristan, Hawke, Lydia, Willie, Teddy, Molly Kate; brothers, Mike Shepherd (Robin), Allan Shepherd (Connie), and special friends, Vince and Velma Loy.
